Antonia Lofaso
Chef Antonia Lofaso's cuisine is an invitation to explore deeper into the depths of her interior world. Her food elicits a fascination that grew from moving out of the suburban areas of Long Island and into the multicultural landscape that is Los Angeles. Carnitas, Cavatelli and different dishes are all available in a single menu. The menu is constantly shifting taste. In all her dishes, she has a vision that is unique and reflects a longing for the old. Scopa Italian Roots opened its doors in 2013 and was immediately very well received. Lofaso has received praise for her unique interpretation of Italian dishes. The food at Lofaso is always delicious, welcoming and pleasing. Lofaso studied under some of famous chefs and learned the latest methods, yet she was not afraid to go against her gut instincts. She quickly rose through the ranks of Wolfgang Puck's Spago and then went on to make a difference in the kitchens of famous chefs located in Los Angeles while working closely with numerous celebrities. Lofaso, Sal Aurora, and Mario Guddemi partnered to open Black Market Liquor Bar Studio City in 2011. The Lofaso had found a home at Black Market. This collaboration would foster the creative freedom Lofaso longed for. The goal of Black Market is not to limit itself by any means. A meal could start with potatoes chips, peppers and some dill. This could be followed by Korean wings and meatballs. Antonia is the center of this dizzying assortment. Throughout her career Lofaso has measured her achievements through her ability to understand her audience and remain true to her own personality. The memorable performances on Top Chef Chicago & Top Chef: All Stars showcased her personality outside the kitchen. Her talents are visible in her frequent appearances as judge on CNBC's Restaurant Startup judge, and on the Food Network's Cutthroat Kitchen Man vs. Child & ABC's Real O'neals. Lofaso worked with Penguin to release The Busy mom's Cookbook - 100 Recipes For quick Delicious Home Cooked Meals in 2012. This book also reveals the story of her struggle when raising Xea and studying in the French Culinary Institute. Lofaso insists that the source of inspiration behind all of Lofaso's accomplishments is her kitchen. In this way, she keeps a steady finger in the pulse. With her Chefletics brand, she is changing the look of the industry, by creating clothing for chefs that is stylish and also serves a practicality. Lofaso's main concern is to stay true to her vision. In this regard she created Antonia Lofaso Catering. This gives customers an incredibly personal experience.
